Impact of physical activity on learning and integration?
This is the topic of this year´s congress. The event takes place in cooperation with the Embassy of Finland and the Finnish Institute in Germany, January 20, 2015 at the Felleshus, Embassy of Finland.
A lecture by Marko Kantomaa will followed by a panel discussion with experts from areas of education, health and sport.
"The impact of physical activity on learning and integration". Insight by Marko Kantomaa. Mr. Kantomaa is an internationally acknowledged researcher at the Finnish Research Center for Sport and Health Sciences and at Imperial College of London. His research focus is the relationship of physical activity on cognitive and social development of children as well as on their academic performance. Read about his thoughts here.

Susanna Rahkamo: She is a former competitive ice dancer and competed with Petri Kokko. With Kokko, she is the 1995 European champion, 1995 World silver medalist, and competed in the Winter Olympics twice. Today, she acts as Vice President at the Finnish Olympic Committee and as Chairperson of the Olympic Culture and Legacy Commission of the European Olympic Committees (EOC).

Dr. Heather Cameron: She is a Junior Professor of Integration Pedagogy at the Free University of Berlin, as well as Associate Professor Extraordinarius of the University of Western Cape in South Africa. She is the founder of BoxGirls, BoxGirls International, RespAct and CamP Group, NGOs focused on sport, gender and democracy.
